I have 4 quakers myself and they are like clowns he probly does that because he is trying to entertain himself or get your attention. And if you ask me? I think it worked, he got your attention didn't he? He is alot smarter then you would think he is. Birds of this type have up to a 10 yr old child's mind to think with, and that makes them very smart! If they weren't smart you'd never hear one talk like a human. He knows what he is doing even when you don't.

birds like to tear things up for fun, you might want to get him a cuttlebone also if you dont already have one in the cage. Im assuming you have toys of course in the cage, maybe its time to rotate them, or buy a few new ones with wooden parts to chew on. I have two green cheeks, and i have 20 differant toys that are on rotation. Each time i clean cages they get "new" old toys untill they wear out. MY female Squishy loves birdy pinatas, they cause around 9.99$ and have dried fruits and nuts inside. You could try differant toys that include nuts and such that the bird has to chew through wood to get to, which will provide hours of entertainment for your quaker.

my parakeets do that all the time. It could be a way for them to get excercise or they're just bored. Try giving him more things to play with. you could also try letting him out more.
