After having a baby, especially if it's your first, you'll discover that you're tired. A lot. It's really easy to stock up on quick energy, no preparation foods but if you give in an eat lots of junky stuff, you'll regret it. Make it easy to eat healthy. Keep fruits, nuts, yogurt, and other good-for-you snacks around and reach for them instead of the chips. Get as much sleep as you can. For exercise, put baby in the stroller and take a walk. You can get back into the gym routine later when baby is older and you're not exhausted.

I've had one child and that was almost 3 years ago ... I didn't do a single thing but stay active and on my feet for 10 hours a day. I ate pizza, reeses peanut butter cups ... i pretty much ate whatever I wanted. Just don't go sitting in front of the TV all day. Stay active.

However I was originally 118 lbs before my daughter and I got up to 150 lbs while pregnant. 3 days after I had her the doctors weighed me at 130 lbs. About a year later I dropped to 123 lbs and I was not doing anything but working 50 hours a week in a preschool program.

I have also heard that breastfeeding is another good way to drop the baby pounds. You may want to try that.

Breastfeed. Use your baby as a weight on your legs and do excercises (like laying on your back and extenting your legs out, then bringing them back in. Or sitting on a chair and doing leg raises. Or arm curls with baby. I used to do alot of that type of thing and either tickle or kiss when my baby came close and baby loved it.) At nap time you could put baby in a stroller and walk around during the nap, just make sure the baby is protected from the sun. The fresh air is good for both of you. Cut down on your candies, sweets, and greasy foods. Go on runs at night when your partner is home. Get a workout video and do it during a nap. There are all sorts of things you can do.

Exercise every day, even if it's just a walk. Push the baby in the carriage or stroller. She will love it. Go on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Eat fish, eggs, chicken, occasional lean beef or pork, low fat cottage cheese. Stay away from regular cheese, no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, peas, beans (except green beans). No fruit and no fruit juice (it's sugar water, my dr says). Cut down on carrots and tomatoes (included ketchup). Use mustard instead of mayonnaise in recipes. Eat lots of salads, green vegetables. Salads only have one tablespoon of dressing for the whole salad. No ice cream, or other desserts. 8 glasses of water a day. No caffeine

Agree fully with the first answer. Also, get a good workout video that you'd find interesting. Strengthen up those core abs and pelvic floor muscles again with some type of yoga or aerobics with lots of squats, lunges, side leg raises, and if you're interested, learn the kegel exercises. Have fun.

I know it's hard to find time to exercise. This is what I did. When you do the dishes, step side to side. When you fold the laundry, get a chair and sit down to get something, stand up to put it on a pile. Jog in place during one t.v. show a day. Dance dance revolution game is another thing. It is fun, too. Also, no white flour, only wheat, and lots of fruit and vegetables. Plus, replace all of your sugar with Splenda! (Don't get the splenda icecream, though, yuck)

If you really want that weight gone...WALK, and watch your portion size. Remember that you won't see results for quite awhile, but you will feel better. Your problem areas are the last to go(If they ever go) I lost 25 pounds walking 20-30 min a day 4-5 times a week from Feb-Oct. I still have my stupid rolls, (small butt, nice legs, small wrists, but still the rolles)but maybe someday those will go away.

Drink plenty of water, eat plenty of whole grains and veggies and walk at a good pace for a half an hour a day.

breast feed -- it helps boost your metabolism... and it's good for the baby, and free :)
