I have a front yard are that has wood chips as decor. There is a neibhor hood cat that uses it for going to the restoom. I thought maybe I could sprinkle pepper or some kind of herb that would make the cat not want to come to my yard. Any advice??

We have the same problem.. cat repellents do not work, the motion sensor water sprinkler will work if you can set it up in the right spot.

We have done Cayenne pepper (rain/sprinkler/dew washes it away so you much reapply all the time)
Spray chemical repellents do not do a thing same reason as above.

I would if you are a male urinate into a container and pour/sprinkle it around the areas that are being effected.. this does work... the Pheromones in your urine will be stringer and therefor more dominant than the cats and they will leave.

I called or spoke with the neighbor about their cats and if they are disrespecting me and the cat issue and refuse to do anything then I call the animal control officer who placed have-a-heart traps in my yard trapped the cats and they were gone forever.
If you live in an area that has leash laws, it also applies to cats many times.. they carry disease and parasites, are a nuisance and become wild and over populated. I now own my own trap, trap the cats and hand them over to animal control myself. It is discusting and belong inside, if they can not properly take care of their pet then they shouldn't have one.

Garlic, mint and mothballs are all ways to keep cats out without hurting them. I would actually suggest moth crystals, they work well. If not, you can buy a granular repellent at any pet store. It refreshes the deterring smell each time it rains.

attempt organic ammonia around the area. It keeps canines faraway from the trash so it would desire to artwork on cats. they are in a position to't stand the scent or it burns their nostril. i've got had problems with strays strolling on my vehicle. Hate those footprints suitable after my no longer trouble-free artwork washing and waxing...grrrrrrrrrr!!

Get a dog or concrete over your yard.

Cats go wherever the ground is soft.

deposit gum balls(from gum trees) where the cats like to visit. They scratch after they do their business and the gum ball prevent that.
