Would you keep it to yourself because of fear of rejection?
Or would you try to educate people on the craft and show them that the craft is not devils work, but it consists of herbal work, working with the dieties, etc?

I've been out of the closet for 10 years. When I had my son, I decided then that I'd start being open about my religious choice. I have bumper stickers on my car "Witches Parking Only All Others Will Be Toad"; "Witches Do It In Circles"; "Where There's A Witch, There's A Way". I have quite a few magikal supplies, concealed in a storage box that has a celestial print on it. My supplies are concealed as I have a few friends who don't approve & have told me that as long as they don't see my supplies, they'll be fine. This works well. My essential oils are stored in my curio hutch on the second shelf. Unless you're right in front of it, you can't see them. I've educated people where I can by providing info leaflets & directing them to informative websites. In the source below is my favorite site. Witchvox has a lot of great information. I'm also a volunteer for the local Pagan Pride Day celebration, also in the source below.

Before you do the above, you ought to make sure that you aren't just being a witch to "be cool," rebel, or get attention. Your grasp of Wicca seems to have been lifted directly out of Silver Ravenwolf, who, unfortunately, is not well-regarded as an accurate source.

The volume of "metaphysical supplies" you own is not a valid indicator of your understanding, nor is partipation in your local Renaissance/Pagan fair. If you insist on wearing a ridiculous little pentacle around your neck, or if you start wearing all black, I would recommend studying your chosen religion more closely.

I am Wiccan and I have always been "out of the broomcloset" so to speak. That doesn't mean I go up to strangers to tell them, "Oh, by the way, I'm a witch!" If the conversation turns to religion I tell the truth. Just about all my friends know my beliefs and some of my family. I try to educate others as much as they want to know about Wicca. I don't worry about judgement of any kind. If people want to judge me because my beliefs are different than theirs, it hurts only them, not me.

It's sad you have to even ask this question. Sure it's okay to be honest about what religious belief you are but don't waste your time on those who believe witches are "evil" because of what they've read in a book. Wicca is the fastest growing religion in the US so remember you have lots of company around and more every day.

tell people about it. i practice nocturnal witchcraft and there are great benefits to its teachings. I don't believe in god because some guy reads out of a book written by man and tells me he's up there watching me. Bullshit. Air, earth, fire and water are around us, you can see and feel them, not some invisable man in the sky. Tell everyone about the benefits of witchcraft but be careful as well, as there is good and bad in everything.

I dont tell everyone but I do try and educate my friends and if someone asks what my religion is I tell them but I dont run around proclaiming it. One of my teachers found out and told the whole school and that was not fun. Blessed be.

I've been practicing Wicca for many years now. A few close people, family and such know. My parents and in-laws do not, and I'm happy to keep it that way.

I am a good person, living a good life and everyone knows that, so the fact that I cultivate my magickal side doesn't seem to bother anyone. Everyone knows. No one cares

Pretty much my whole family and most of my friends know and don't have a problem with it. In fact, they have been very supportive. I have answered alot of questions from them and cleared up alot of misconceptions.
Blessed be!
