I have an old photograph of my grandfather's group in their spanish american uniforms. taken by boston photo's

on the back of the photograph are the words Boston Photography Co. Boston Mass. Iwould like to know if they are still around or if there is someway I could find out when the photo was taken .my grandfather's name was John G. Sodee. They are all in uniform.I need an other e-mail address in order to send a photo. I can't do it from my computor.

Couple of thoughts. maximum cemetaries have a garbage pile that has a lot of floral tributes on - the unhappy element is that there is a decrease to the quantity of plant life which may be accommodated round a grave. I doubt you would get right into a lot worry in case you photographed them - you does no longer choose a tripod. an option is to mock up a grave with a gravestone and plant life. human beings do get very comfortable about seeing someone taking images in a graveyard, so be prepared to be challenged. That stated, there are some superb examples of funeral paintings in places like Nunhead and Highgate cemetaries. Doubt you would hit any complications in case you've been photographing Victorian tombs.

Try contacting the Archives Dept in Boston. Sometimes people send old photos to places like that and they might know.

If the picture is very old, the last time Americans & Spanish were together on American soil was back in 1836 when the Mexican Army assisted us in the Civil War, maybe this will help?

I would suggest checking with Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Revenue to find out if the company is still in business and/or the details about the owner and contact details.
