An estimated 1,200 to 1,400 cases of Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) occur each year in the United States. Only 1 out of 4 babies dies of Shaken Baby Syndrome. HOWEVER, the other three babies will need ongoing medical attention for the rest of their short lifespans.

The majority of SBS perpetrators are young males (Almost 80%)

More than 60% of the victims of Shaken Baby Syndrome are male.

the better educated parents are on how to handle a crying child the less likely they are to shake the baby (people need to know infants are not capable of rationalizing, they cant "decide to test you" or understand punishment at this early age)
