I have been working out for the past month, 6 days a week 2 hours a day. I have lost 22lbs. This week and next week I can't work out because I am busy. I feel so guilty and crappy. I'm not goona gain all that weight back, but I feel like I'm not going to lose any more. Will I continue to loose weight because I was working out? Should I feel so guilty?

Don't feel guilty. That certainly isn't going to help anything. Your body will probably be glad for a break after working out for 2 hours 6 days a week for a month. Try to eat healthy during the next 2 weeks and get in whatever activity you can. You will likely maintain your weight. After your break, you'll be more energized in your workouts.

It gets obsessive doesn't it? I trained for Ironman a few years ago and felt the same way when i missed a day.

First- a day off when you are doing INTENSE workouts is GOOD for your body. It lets you go back at it harder and stronger than if you had not taken a day off.

Second- You WILL have time over the next few weeks. It might not be 2 hours...but grab 10 minutes and go for a walk, do jumping jacks, stretching, SOMETHING. It will help you mentally alot...
And I don't believe SarahQ's right when she says you shouldn't be working out that much. The body can take a tremendous amount of physical training...and in return, if you are eating well and getting good sleep...your body will return to you an incredible fitness level. I don't know what your goal is (weight loss, a race, whatever) but it takes work (smart work) to achieve goals. Be cognizant of the fact that you might be getting a bit obsessed...relax a bit about missing 2 hours.

Good luck....been there....done that!

No way girl!! You shouldn't feel guilty, but rather feel PROUD cuz you have accomplished a loss of 22 pounds!! Just make sure not to overeat while you're unable to work out. Maybe you could even plan a workout that lasts 5-10 min. every 3 or 4 hours or so, or whenever you get the chance since you are oh so busy. Good luck with this!! Keep up the good work, and if by chance you have a minor setback don't let that stop you completely...just forge ahead and get back on track! Keep up the good work girly!!! You're doing great!!

You shouldn't be working out that much in the first place, I'm not insulting you, but the body needs a day in between to process the effects of the previous workout.

22lbs in a month is quite a lot, so don't feel guilty.

And please, if you feel as if you can no longer control how much you excersise, or if your weight is the only thing you can think about, go to see a consultant - I've seen my sis go through anorexia (not saying that's what you've got) and weight/excersise obsession can do some serious longterm damage

You might feel crappy because you're losing weight too fast, and you are working out to much. Six days a wk, 2hrs a day is a lot, especially if you never really worked out before. If you take a week off, stick to your healthy eating plan, and stay away from salt, you should be ok. Also, when you build muscle, the muscle acts as a natural weight killer because it speeds up the metabolism.

You do not have to work out that much. I understand you may be wanting to lose weight but hurting your self in the long run just isnt worth it. You need to pace yourself and go to the gym around 3 times a week. No need to feel guilt about it your body will surely thank you. There is also a alternitive method I used on top of working out and that is the ear staple. I had them placed before I started working with my trainer and I lost 18lbs before I even started working out. So there are other ways beside exhausting your self every day.

Lose the guilt. I have a feeling that you're thinking that you can't work out at all unless you put in 2 hrs at a time. Even if you get in 15 minutes a day, you'll feel better. Just take a quick walk, stretch, etc. 2hrs a day sounds like a lot anyway, be sure that you're not overdoing it or setting yourself up for failure because of the intensity of your work outs.

No, you have done a great job losing weight and you should be so proud, I think you should find the time to exercise, it'll take just ten minutes before bed everyday to do some sit ups or jogging on the spot and actually working out/exercising is releasing endomorphines in your brain that make you happy; same as sex and chocolate, so you should be feeling great. But make sure you eat right, and good luck.

There is nothing to feel guilty about - try to keep some type of activity going even if it's just taking a quick walk, so you don't completely lose your motivation to keep moving -- congrats on the weight you've lost so far!

You are going to have to find a way to keep working out even if not 2 hours per day otherwise you will get out of the groove. TRUST ME it's hard to get back in the habit.
