There originally was only "ONE TRUTH" and that TRUTH became distorted through the Desire for Power and Control. Many of the splits in the modern day church stem from personality conflicts and interpretation. The Roman Church split Christianity into two camps and documents were changed by the earlier Bishops called: Bicops. If a scripture did not fit their ideas of religion, they simply rewrote the scripture to support their ideas. This did not stop until the invention of the Guttenberg Press.

Well, the problem is that anyone for any reason can create a church of their own, and as long as people follow them, it is considered a church. Especially in the Protestant churches, people will leave a church that they attended due to a disagreement with some part of scripture and then form their own church.
Personally, being raised Protestant (going to many different denominations) and then converting to the Catholic Church, I prefer the Catholic Church because over the course of 3 years, they go through the entire bible during their services.

give an example of some scripture that denomination choose to or do not choose to enfore as "law" for members of that denomination

I agree with cosaxteacher about the catholics going through the bible in cycle years A,B, and C. Where each year for the main part focuses on a certain gospel account and readings from both the Old and New Testaments that agree with the gospels teachings for the year.

I think it has to do with the fact that all Churches are made up of fallible humans. No gets made perfect until Jesus returns and takes up His church.

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.

"The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship."--Hebrews 10:1

That is why you need a through study of the whole bible and not relly on man's word. Because some men do use the bible to produce what they believe instead of what the bible actually teaches. Such as Luke 16 about hell.
Saying Abraham was in heaven. That was a story! Do you know why we know that. Later he said he was the first to be resurrected to heaven. So before that time no one had been resurrected to heaven. The bible is a puzzle. Learn the circumstances around the verse. The pharasees where trying to kill him. So he told it in a story, but he was talking about them.
You need a study of the bible. Read The Book

Most churches obey all of the bible as they should!!!! As for the Gospel of Judas and stuff like that they came out around 300AD so they could have not been true, at best they where 3 or 4 hand accounts.
you should try reading:

Well, the ceremonial Laws of the Old Testament (those having to do with Temple worship, dietary requirements, and a few other oddments) are fulfilled and laid to rest now, because their time is past. But all the moral laws, and all the rest of Scripture, is fully in force, and ought to be obeyed.

Most churches recognize the fact that Christ is head of the church. The church isnt perfect, people within it with many different talents. But the church does try to eliviate suffering, help those in need, give comfort to those who need it, and worship the Lord on Sundays.

I think it is because the church is becoming more and more like the world and many times man's word is preached and not God's word. We find that many preachers are afraid to stand up and say the truth, they have begun to tickle peoples ears and only say that which the congregation is wanting to hear. It is time for the old fashioned preachers who are not afraid to stand again and preach that which God would want preached.

It states in the Bible :2 Timothy 4
1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

6For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

7I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Well that is quite broad. The answer is definitely twofold: 1) Some churches genuinely believe they are following after truth, so theirs is a matter of interpretation. 2) Some churches are based after money, greed, or simply don't take the Bible to be fully true.
