The obvious reason is that there is a higher percentage of alcohol. Plus, the taste just isnt as bitter.

So much better than what?
There's an old addage in the computer world, "Garbage in, garbage out." The same is true in the beer world.
What makes a good beer is good ingredients. What makes a bad beer, well you get the idea.
Beer has four main components: water, grain, yeast, and hops. The best grain for brewing beer is barley. If you want details on exactly how to brew beer, check out some of the Home Brewing web sites.
Most commercial U.S. beers are lagers that have a high rice and/or corn content. They don't have much flavor. I would have to say that most commercial Canadian beers are slightly better than their U.S. counterparts because they use mainly barley.
But when you get into the micro or regional brewery arena, it's a different ball game. Take Samuel Adams Boston Lager, one of the best beers brewed in the U.S. In terms of taste, it stand head and shoulders over any commerical beer, Canadian or U.S.
On average, most commerical Canadian beer is better than most commercial U.S. beer. But the, on average, most commerical British or German beer is better than most commercial Canadian beer.
But for the true beer lover the best beer is the beer that comes from a local micro brewery, whether that is in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Tiere del Fuego.

You can't say it's better without mentioning what style of beer or Region. All Canadian Beer is not better than say......Germany...or Belgium.....or Beer made in Small batches in Washington and Oregon....I would say that Canadian Lagers are better than American Lagers.....but Washington Micros are better than Canadian Lagers....now that's just an Opinion. You would have to Categorize you beer then compair....and that's lots of BEER...so Drink up taste some other beers...

It's not. There's some crap Canadian beer, just like every other country. I mean Moosehead is nothing to write home about. And Molson is just a Canadian Budweiser. C'mon, there is good beer to be found all over the world. And there's a lot of crap beer too...

Canadians are the masters at brewing beer! Why better? Beer has a lot to do with quality water source just like Scotch. Canada does not pollute their water sources like we do in the US and therefore the have primo water quality to brew their beer with. This makes it the best. My favorite is Molson XXX.
Enjoy,

It's not that it's Canadian. EVERYBODY's beer is better than ours. It's because we, as consumers, are not picky enough about our beer. We'll drink what ever cheap crap they can pump from the sewers. It doesn't help that Anheuser Busch practically monopolizes beer production in the US. When we, as consumers, start demanding REAL, full-flavored natural beers, the companies will start giving us what we want.

Consider your average yak pee served up warm or cold to taste. It doesn't take a genius to see that unless you are tres drunk, then Canadian beer (or any beer for that matter) would be better than the previous attempt at masochism.

If you lived in Canada, you'd make better beer as a survival instinct. I mean after all, what else is there to do?
