Most religions have no heaven or hell. They still have other stories and legends of ways to save yourself after death. Those that believe in Karma believe that our actions in this life affect the next life. What we do returns to us eventually. Others believe in predestination (that what happens to us in the afterlife is already decided regardless of our actions). Some Christian sects believe this as well. Still others believe there is no afterlife or that we remain as spirits to watch over our loved ones.

Almost every religion has "salvation" stories that are essentially guides to being a better person and living a better life. Sadly, many Christians feel (and will say) that if there were no heaven or hell, there would be no morals. You have to wonder what lives they would lead if they did not fear punsihment. Millions of people accross the world live without fear of hell and are good and decent people with excellent morals. So is heaven and hell really all that neccessary?

If just for the sake of an argument that their were no heaven or hell, then I suspect that some would come up with stories of salvation, but even if there were no heaven or hell, people would still do that which is good and that which is evil depending on their own moral beliefs.

Christians are people who know that Christ died FOR us all. He told the world about heaven through a few select people who, in turn, wrote this information down. This is where the New Testament part of the bible came from. The two reasons people don't believe in heaven or hell is because (1)they were not shown the true facts or (2) they are so set in their ways that they won't believe the truth. Jesus proved who he was through supernatural acts and unquestionable wisdom. Many churches "beat around the bush" on this subject, because the preacher’s don't have a solid foundation in Christ. Yet, if you read the bible, you'll find out that this is the way it's supposed to be. You'll see...

If there was no Heaven and Hell what would the point of religion in general be. Think about it one of the biggest arguements for living rightous is that you are rewarded. With no Heaven what is your Eternal Reward. What is to stop you from giving into temptation? That applies to ALL religions. Yeah living right is a good thing to do but what would the point of religion be. We have agnostics(and proably a few true atheists but I doubt many of those really exsist) that live properly without worrying about getting into Heaven.

Ok, dealing with what if's. . .what if there is.

Salvation is not the only part of Christianity. The coolest part is the awesome relationship with your Creator. To be in a loving relationship with the wonderful God who created everything. . . ! It just doesn't get any better! From Him comes REAL, TRUE love. I don't want to live my life without that, even if there is nothing after death. The fact that there IS heaven is BONUS! Not only do I get the best of life here on earth, but I get to SEE Jesus!

If there is no heaven or hell life is still good, we have families, friends and everything nice the world has to offer but it will be difficult to see the meaning of things if there is no Jesus. He's the only one that gives many believers like me strenght to go on and be good and not follow the wordly ways which oftentimes only ends in heartaches. I keep my sanity within me with the help of my God and when I do wrong, I always feel horrible. Sometimes even though you have everything in your hands there is still something missing inside. Life isn't complete without the fellowship of God...when you do right, you feel right. I wouldn't mind if there's no heaven or hell as long as we have Jesus with us.

This is a good question. We would all sit back and each person do their own thing. In fact not just heaven but if there was no resurrection even the bible says in 1 Cor 15:14 " And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain." it goes further to say in verse 19 "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable". The basis of our joy is eternal life.

Take away heaven, you take away eternal life.

God bless you

Heaven and Hell are part of our religion. If there was no Hell or Heaven then it would also change our faith. But, we would still be following God's commandments and try to be good people while you guys continue on doing what you want to do in life.

Someone would always come up with something. If we did not know about Salvation - something else would take it's place.

Kind of comparing it to: "the flavor of the month"

What is "en vogue" will be all the rage to speak about.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

If there were no Heaven or Hell then there would be no God. If there was no God then there would be no Christians or anyone else to ponder such things. God created us. When people ponder these questions, I believe, they are really asking is there a God?
I believe there is.
