I don't think you are a very good candidate for religion. Sorry. Maybe youshould try to do something else constructive. Let your neighbors take your kids to church for you.

That would be foolish. The Bible tells us in James that if we ask God and then doubt-that we are double minded and unstable in all our ways, and we should not expect anything from God.
It would be a serious waste of time to pray to God if you do not believe He exist- and He agrees.

I had that same question once!!!
Before I could give myself an answer I had to figure out WHAT it was that I actually believed in. I also needed to see what was out there and what fulfilled my spiritual needs.
We mostly inherit religious/spiritual beliefs and rarely are we encouraged to make up or own minds or explore the possibilities ; we are brainwashed into believing there is only One TRUE path.
Spirituality and religion are not the same thing. You choose what form of worship fulfills your needs...
Good luck!

Our creator does exist under thousands of names. God, Buddha, Goddess, Isis, Hecate, Diana, The Trinity, etc. When you pray you don't have to worry about what name you use because all prayers go to the same place.

You can't, otherwise you would be crazy. That's what crazy people do, talk to imaginary friends and voices in their head. You must first be a theist, at the very least, before you attempt to pray

The great Atheist Philosopher Epicurus said something to this effect:
If it feels good to pray, why not just do it.
