Keep it a secret for as long as you can. I say this because any woman in her twenties who can't tell her parents she has a boyfriend (BF), has no freedom.
Or, sit them down and tell them you're pregnant. After they flare up and carry on, then tell them you aren't pregnant and about the BF and maybe it won't seem as bad.

break it to them easy, start talking about "hanging out with this guy" and tell them that you think he's a great friend... after they see how happy you are with having this guy in your life as a friend, then break it to them, dropping the bombshell "i have a boyfriend" could make them a little shocked.

one thing you have to remember is that when you tell your parents about your boyfriend make sure it is serious and make sure that you are firm and tell them that this is YOUR boyfriend and make sure you start talking to them about him before you introduce him so that they have already warmed up to the idea of you and a boy....let me know how everything works out...

I would tell them when you think they would want to know. Also, if you respect them and their opinion and you know this man has good character then there would be no reason to fear. You are old enough, right?
