Yes Sir! Robert E. Lee is an a American hero and for one reason, to preserve the right to keep slaves. Everyone knows that if it wasn't for Woodrow Wilson's Great Grandfather, Jahdi Wilson, none of this would of happened. Robert E. Lee knew that the Confederacy was the wave to the future and you could get condoms there cheap. You could drink there at 18 and plantations were just good old plain fun. When Aaron Burr was giving Charles Barkley head in 1845 he said "Thank you by the grace of God that I can live in the South and have slaves" Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!

lee was both one of the best generals of his time and an honorable decent man. his skill at arms kept the south alive perhaps a year longer that it otherwise would have survived without him. as such he is a man to admire and is a hero but perhaps he is somewhat overrated at the same time. he was not the best general ever or even of the civil war. a very good tactician but lousy at logistics and as any good modern general will tell you the latter is the more important. the image of the starving barefoot reb can be laid in many cases at lee's feet since he was very bad at making sure his troops had what they neededto survive and fight. pickets charge and a few other actions prove he had moments where he just lost sight of what was happening. he also often let his generals get away with thngs that damaged his army [ stuart's ride around the union army at gettysburg for example]. in many ways he was a man born too late and he often lived as if the world was a simpler place. still i respect his code of honor and his ethics. he was a true gentleman. He believed that slavery was probably morally wrong but that god would fix the problem when the time came. Someone with this kind of thought process cannot be considered a hero. Heroes transcend their times. Lee clearly subscribed to the prejudice of his time. Great military leader though. His actions with Jackson at Chancellorsville were some of the greatest in American history.
