I use Photoshop CS2. Of course, I've been using Photoshop since 3.0 so it's very easy for me to use.

If you want strict ease of use and an inexpencive price tag, JASC Paintshop Pro is pretty good. It'll take seconds to pick up on how to do stuff and it's only about $99.

What are you trying to do? If all you want is to crop or color correct an image you can use some of the programs from on-line photo finishing sites. Kodak Easy Share does OK and I've tried a few others but they are pretty much the same.

If you are looking at doing some heavy manipulation with layers and adjustment layers and channels then Photoshop CS2 and it $600 price tag is in your future.

Photoshop of course. I also hear Apple's Aperture is pretty nice for folks that just want to do some minor adjustments. Photoshop has endless possibilities. It is great for complex retouching, digital manipulation, etc. It takes some time to learn all the tools and commands and such, but its worth it. There are a lot of great books out there if you are interested.

Thats an easy question. I use Ulead Photoimpact and although it would not be satisfactory for anyone who is in the publishing business, it is excellent for newbies or those who only have small projects to complete. It is so automated that you rarely have to learn too much about the program. Point and click gets you thru your project easily and quickly. The program runs a little slow, so be patient because the end product is great.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 is a lot more simple than Photoshop. When you get used to it you can move up into the more complex programs

Why dont you try using Microsoft Paintbrush. It has many features. You can also use Microsoft photo editor. These do not have tons of features but basic functions are good enough.
