I think its great! I always wanted to have 10 kids. I have 7 and we have decided that is enuff for right now. As long as the kids are taken care of...and the parents love them...then I say have as many as you want!

I saw this story on TV, I think it was the Discovery Channel. I was very concerned because the younger children are being "parented" by the older children. The parents are like the overseers. Children need as much hands on daily interaction with their parents as possible and I didn't see that. I saw a lot of structure but where is the time for Mommy & Daddy to pay the one-on-one attention so they know how special and important they are as individuals? That shouldn't come from the siblings. I'm sure they love their children but to me that's not nearly enough. But then again they didn't ask me.

I have 1 child now shes only 2 and a half yrs old and a handful for me. Id like to have at least 1 or 2 more in the near future! and thats it!

For me personally, I would rather kiss an oncoming train. I mean, I adore my 3, but it's as exhausting and frustrating as it is rewarding.
I've seen the show about the Duggar family and they really do seem to have it all under control. I have high respect for a couple like that, because they take raising their family so seriously and yet I've been following the news in Canada about that little boy, Jeffrey Baldwin, and how his damn grandparents left him in a room wreaking of his own feces and let him slowly starve to death.
So, all the power to the Duggar family. I wish my parents had cared about me that much.

i think that how many children you have is both dependent on how many you want and how many oops involved. personally i have 6 of my own and i raise my sister's 3, which is absolutely wonderful. at some point if i get a bigger home, i hope to become a foster parent and thereby enlarge my family a great deal. kids are absolutely wonderful and the more the merrier. the only real question is "do you have the capacity to love them all", if the answer is yes, i say go for it!

May God bless them because they are goin to need all the help they can get. I have seen families with this many children and they are actually more functional and have more love for one another than some small families. It's not how many is too many, but how many you think you can handle and if it is in your heart to have 16 your heart must be bigger than most.

That is way way way to much for me I love kids but I could not handle that many all the time. If that what they wish then so be it. I personally think it is crazy. They better make sure they are millionaires before they do this.

i think that it is selfish. There are so many starving children in orphanages all over the world! You can find babies and children or any color, size and shape, so why not give your love and affection to children that need it, instead of adding to the 6 Billion + people in the world.

1 has been enough for me...
I guess if you really WANT 16 kids and you can provide for them without the help of the government and welfare, then have at it. But, if you think that just because you want to have 16 you are entitled to taxpayer assistance, you have NO BUSINESS having any kids at all! (just my opinion)

16 would be way too many for me but it is personal choice. Also consider religious beliefs - if the couple's beliefs prohibit bc and they are married - well, I really don't think abstinence would be preferable.
