i wish to install a 9.5kw shower what size cable do i need?

Under new regulations it will be illegal to connect it yourself, though you can run the cables, of course. It must be tested and connected by a qualified electrician and certified as such.

This may not bother you until you come to sell the property.

you need to use a minimum of 10mm2 cable.. twin and earth and at least a 50amp mcb.
