I taught my child to ride at a local ball field. The grass is soft, so falling won't hurt. Give that a shot for a while until your comfortable. The field has to be firm.... it's almost impossible to pedal through soft soil!
Anyway, get back on that thing! It's great fun, good exercise and saves on gas money.
Now, if you ultimately fail at getting your nerve back, you could try one of these ;)

Get your most trusted strong friend and go to a park when it's not too busy. Get your friend to help you push off once you know how to use the brake. Have your friend run alongside you and catch you or stop the bike if you have any difficulties. My husband taught me how to ride a bike when I was 31 by doing what I just said. I hope you have a helpful friend and regain your confidence. I'm sure it will all come back to you, have a little faith in your own ability. You can do it I know you can. Go for it! I never rode a bike when I was young only a tricycle.

The key thing to know about riding a bike is balance. If you rode when you were younger, theres a very good chance you didnt forget the basics. Just start taking small pedaling steps and it would all come back to you. For safety ask someone to guide you so you dont get hurt. I suggest wearing a helmet and elbow/knee pads. Good Luck! :)

you shold try walk on a balance beam and do anything to practice keeping your balance like walk on the curb before you get the bike. then you just think of something nice, like a giant cookie and that should calm you down. Then after every try, so as not to get discouraged, give your self a reward, and then once you accomplish riding a bike, give yourself a big reward.
DON'T FORGET THE HELMET!
:)

I taught my kid how to bike. Even today she thanked me for the lessons. I would teach you too if I could. But the easiest way will be to fit training wheels on your bike and learn. Its easy and you will slowly learn.

well first id start with dinner and a movie cause that usually opens the door for the next step. J/K. get your adrenaline going and get all hyper, then you can ride the bike.
