thank you... I like this question.. i have 2 children and they are half white half guatemalan...i don't think it's detrimental at all... they are still children wether they are "purebread" or mixed. as long as they are born of 2 people who are willing to love and nurture them it doesn't matter if the parents are not of the same race.. what is race anyway...it doesn't make you different as a person.. we are all human beings.. and that's important to remember. my children are lucky to be able to experience life in 2 different cultures... i wouldn't have it any other way.

Not sure how dating is related to children. A date is a date.

I assume you mean interracial reproduction. From a genetic standpoint, it is actually healthier for humanity to have mixed racial backgrounds. From a sociological standpoint, as long as the children are reared in a progressive, welcoming community, children of mixed race wouldn't be considered at a disadvantage. There are, unfortunately, pockets of rednecks that think it is wrong and they will make it uncomfortable for some.

I don't belive so, the recent census that came out indicated a boom in the population of inter-racial births.
It would be some thing for that couple to figure out and come to a compromise between the 2 cultures.

In my book dating does not produce children, sexual intercourse does.

If you are asking if being an interracial child is detrimental to the child, I would say that would depend where they are being raised and what the societal attitudes toward their mix is.

It isn't bothering my kid. It depends on how the parents and the surrounding society react to that child. We live in a very tolerant region so we do not foresee any problems for our son. It would be different elsewhere.

No. Noone can tell who they will love as long as you raise them right they will know who they are as a person. Also if the other person in the relationship loves them and shows it to the kids; the kids will know they are a good person

Absolutely not. In today's world, you would be hard pressed to find people who do not have some sort of "mix" in their background.

Heck.... I'm a white girl who's grandmother was a gypsy. I guess that's why I tan so well. =)

But really, teach them about their heritage... all of it, love them, and promote tollerance and exceptance!

I think it depends where you live. Where I am, it's alot more common then it used to be and totally acceptable. Besides that, many biracial kids are gorgeous! Look at Derek Jeter! LOL

No. If you let your children know that they are loved they will be alright. Usually it is the other person that has the problem

NO!
If you raise your kids to beleive that all are equal and all are loved for what's inside...they'll be fine...we're all inter-something anyway...I'm irish-scottish and my husband is jewish/indian/
It's all about the love in the family!!
