I have been using gel. What is it going to hurt? I dont use it all the time, just when I want to make him look cute. He loves it. For girls it can help keep their hair all nice too. I wouldnt worry about it. I do it all the time, no one has yelled at me. Only got compliments.

The only product you should use on a 2 1/2 year old is baby shampoo. At this age, hair is still very fine and delicate, and gels, mousse, hairspray, or anything of that nature can seriously damage it. Just don't do it.

I think a TINY bit is OK but don't use it everyday. Try not to get it on the scalp, it could dry out there scalp and make cradle cap. My daughter is 3 and has very fine hair that tangles very easy. No detangler worked very well so I use a Very Tiny bit of my anti-frizz serum after I was her hair and this helps so much. No adverse affects so far, but she is older. I'd say just be careful with what you use and don't use it everyday. I'm sure your 2 1/2 is so cute even without styling products!!

Johnson & Johnson's No More Tears Baby Shampoo and Conditioner. Maybe for a photo shoot I might put a little mouse or gel to create a do. But cover there face and eyes it might irritate there skin & the spray might give them an allergy condition. I once taped a bow in my Baby's hair for a photo.

I use a little bit of gel on my 2 yr old sons hair when he wants a "mo-hawk" like his cousin's. Just be careful when you rinse it, rinse away from the face, they're not tear-free. There are "baby" hair products you can use, but they don't seem to work as well.

My daughter had curly hair, so I did use some gel made to help the curls. Also try Lorel for kids shampoo. It seems to clean better for older kids and still is tear free with lots of different sents.
