The best kind of Vodkas would have to be Absolute, Three Olives and Grey Goose. Try these three I am sure you will like them, Grey Goose has a stronger taste like Skyy so you might like this one better but the other two are just as good.

Drink Grey Goose. Absolute amongst real vodka drinkers, and anyone that knows anything about good liquors is crap. Kettle One is a good one, skyy is o.k., but nothing compares to Grey Goose.

I don't know what that guy up a few is talking about, but they do have different tastes. Maybe someone's making a lot of money from the label or packaging, etc. but there are various tastes. The more expensive tend to go down smoother, not as gritty. I'd try Belvedere, it's good stuff.

Armadale or Grey Goose
I prefer to drink mine straight from the freezer in shots but I guess if you were using vodka with mixed drinks Smirnoff would be fine. Cheers!

Skyy is worth keeping around, Absolut is also a favorite.

I drink Smirnoff and grapefruit juice. For special occasions, i.e. martinis, Grey Goose or Belvedere, very smooth!!!
