The American Kennel Club has a list of dogs that are allegy friendly http://www.akc.org/news/index.cfm?article_id=2588 . (If the link doesn't work, go to www.akc.org, click on future dog owners, and enter the work "allergy" into the search box. it should pop up.) There are some "designer" dog breeds that are said to be allergy friendly as well. They are usually mixed with poodles, bichons, or malteses. Once you settle on a breed that best suits your family. Ask a reputable breeder if it would be okay to have you and your husband spend some time with the dogs (at the breeders home, of course) to see how he would react to the dog.

Try to find a dog that doesn't shed. Usually the little toy breeds don't. Like toy poodles, chihuahuas, min pins. Allergies are caused by all the dander, so if you get a dog that doesn't shed it reduces the dander considerably.

you recognize what can make this artwork? A collar activated puppy door. One the position that's a stiff puppy door, purely opens with a receiver on the canine's collar. domestic dog pads are terrible in case you actual desire a housetrained canine. So I recommend adversarial to those. heavily. you could also employ a canine walker to come back through two times in the day to take the canine out. this may be tremendous, because the canine will be able to take a damage and bypass for a walk. in the different case... that is quite no longer the great time so as that you'll be able to get a canine, what with college beginning back and both you and your mom having to be lengthy gone for therefore long... you should possibly bypass and rescue fairly an older canine, bout 3 or so, which will nicely be slightly more desirable relax being left on my own all day. nevertheless lively, yet able to face being on my own longer.

there is a breed called a "labradoodle". it is a cross mix between the golden labs and the standard poodle. you get a rather large, golden colored, curly haired, affectionate and shedless dog. very good natured, and good with children. standard poodles are very intellegent (unless bred too closely as with any animal) and labs are really good with people.
as far as allergies, i don't know if the doctor explained animal allergies to you, but my daughter had allergies and just couldn't give up her cat. so the doctor told us the following: dander (dried saliva and skin cells) are what most people are allergic to. it gets on you hands, clothes and furniture. then you touch your face, and well there you go, allergic reaction. so wash hands after touching animals, vacumn frequently, don't let the animals on the pillows. good luck

Look for a short hair breed. It would shed less and potentially cause fewer problems.
Of couse, if he's already been exposed to toy poodles with no problems, there's your answer right there!

Don't get a short haired breed. Contrary to common belief, they shed more than long haired breeds because their hair doesn't take as long to fully grow before they lose it. Poodles and yorkies hair hair, not fur, which lessens allergies. Good luck!

my guy is also allergic, i have had a lab greyhound cross and he had no problem, so i would say spend some time around both and see if he has a reaction. greyhounds are like cats they clean them-self and love being clean, ck the rescue services thay might be able to help.

Poodles are very hypoallergenic pets. They do not shed or have dander so they are great pets for people with allergies.
