Contrary to popular belief, giving your kitten a significant amount of milk can cause more problems than worms. It can cause upset stomach and diarrhea. Human milk (1%, 2%, whole milk or skim milk) is not good to give your kitten. There is special milk called Cat Sip that you can buy in Wal-Mart or some grocery stores as well as Pet Stores. It usually comes in a miniature box and the milk (not in powdered form) is already to be given to your kitten. Cat Sip is easy to digest and won't cause any nasty side effects for your kitten.

Good luck to you! May your kitten and you have many happy days ahead and provide each other with companionship and love.

Your kitten isn't going to get worms from just plain old milk. You might give her a tummy ache, though. if she/he is already weaned (over 8 weeks old) then she really doesn't need to drink milk, other than the little bit you can put in her dry kitten food to soften it up for her.

Does milk give you worms? Would you even consider drinking something that could give a kitten worms!?

Milk can't give a kitten worms. But you might want to talk to a vet about giving him/her kitten formula instead.

NO!!!! Stop!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT give your cats cow milk, they can't digest it!!! There is a special milk for cats and it is fairly inexpensive. Also, if they are very little, they need a formula just for kittens that provides them with nutrients they desperately need. it is the closest we can come to mother's milk at this given time. Check with your vet!

My cats were able to handle some cow's milk and not get sick or anything until they reached 8. Then their stomachs got a bit more finicky and they were vomiting it back up almost immediately. They love milk and still wanted it so we switched to that cat milk you can buy from the pet stores - can't remember the name off the top of my head.

Cats, contrary to popular belief, do not really have the proper digestion system to handle milk other than their mother's milk. There is a specialty milk in most pet food aisles of grocery stores that is made specifically for cats.

You shouldn't give your cat any type of cow's milk. I remember reading it on the Eukanuba site yesterday if you want more details. I knew you weren't supposed to give it to them, but hadn't ever read why. It's too rich for their stomachs and can cause problems such as stomach upset and diarrhea.
