Sounds like she has anger problems, domestic violence is not just males hitting females, guys can be on the receiving ends as well it's a myth that it only happens to girls. If she boils over like that it may be a pattern and cycle of abuse. Nothing you did or will do can prevent this. Honestly the best thing you can do is insure your safety. I imagine you care for her but being a punching bag is not love. See the links below and get some help for yourself and her abusiveness doesn't just go away and get better on it's own you both need help.

Ask her why she is doing that to you and if you dont get a good reason then you need to tell her im sorry but i wont put up with this anymore and that our relationship is over.

you have by far more respect for her that what she has for you she obviously has low self esteem and deep physiological issues that cause her violent behavior towards you.you don't need to deal with all of this so just leave her.
