Not all babies crawl. Some roll, others bear walk and some just start walking. He's only 9 months old - give him some more time. He might be a later developer. walking at 10 months is considered early. The average is 12 months.

He's not lazy- he's just comfortable with how he gets around. He will crawl if and when he's ready. Some kids just go from rolling around to walking. My oldest did the army crawl, then crawled and then walked, but he was 15 months when he started walking. Some kids are late walkers, some arent. It doesn't mean your child is lazy!
My youngest, he did the army crawl and then crawled on his knees for a very long time, he crawled for so long he was like super baby!!

Yes it is true that some babies never crawl. But crawling is an important developmental tool that will help later in life. Some people say that not crawling much is a sign of dyslexia later in life. Don't show your son how to crawl by crawling yourself, he probably doesn't get mimicking those types of moves yet. What you can do to help him want to crawl is by placing a favorite toy, or pacifier just out of his reach to get him to move towards it. My son crawled backwards for months before he went forwards, and then he was off! Baby walkers arent't very safe nowadays. I would get rid of it all together and just make sure he has lots of tummy time. It's tough, but don't compare your two kids, each one is different, don't worry he'll get it. If you still have concerns, bring it up with your pediatrician.

First of all, you can't compare your child to everyone else's, because they are all different. Some children never crawl, but start walking at your son's age. It's good that he is moving around, and I know it is frustrating for both of you, but the crawling will just all of a sudden happen one day. Don't worry about it, just make sure you give him plenty of time on the floor, as you do already. And obviously he's not lazy, as he does what he is able.

The rolling you are describing may be his way of crawling. Not all babies crawl the same way. Don't stress over it.
My daughter didn't crawl until she was nine months old and then started walking by 11 months.

My daughter never crawled. She went from rolling to walking. Do not compare your son with others. He will do what he needs to do when he is ready. Do not use the walker. He needs to use all his muscles to get around. Encourage him to move by putting toys a small distance from him. Believe me he will get to them. DO NOT WORRY!!! Some boys do not walk until they are almost a year old.

Get rid of the baby walker. Maybe arrange a play date with a child that can crawl and walk. They won't really play with each other but they will check each other out.
My pediatrician was very much against baby walkers.

hi while i became working in a nursery final 12 months for 7months i observed particularly a variety toddlers coming to the nursery. some toddlers have been crawling at 8mnths, some 10 months etc. The 'general' general age is 10months so your son has a on an identical time as yet earlier you could desire to anticipate him to pass slowly. some toddlers do no longer even pass slowly and could drag their backside alongside the floor or pass slowly on thier bellies (all toddlers are diverse). a toddler will finally start to cruise (upward thrust up and pass around conserving onto furnishings) around 12months and many times will walk unaided around 14-15months... it relies upon how properly they are coming up etc.

Start walking him like you did your other son....holding his hands and making him walk everywhere. My first son was the same way...he wouldn't move unless we moved him or he was in his walker. He was about 10 months old when he decided he was going to bypass crawling and go right to walking alongside furniture. He was walking fairly quickly after that.

some kids walk before they crawl. Be patient. Try teaching him to walk. You can maybe skip the crawling stage. (which means he'll be a lot cleaner off the floor)
