This only happens because the younger generation do not take marriage seriously anymore ..its easy to marry and easy to divorce..so most of these marriages have no meaning anyway.....

Why are people from my generation so judgmental?
I DO understand the point you are making. It's not like the high divorce rate is a good thing. A lot of teens/20-somethings probably don't know what they want yet, but think they do. On the other hand, it's not necessarily a bad thing for people to get married younger, especially if they've already gotten pregnant -- would you rather they not accept their responsibilities and go their separate ways?
Also, it IS possible for *responsible* young people to decide that they love each other, that they want to form a partnership, and STILL live their own lives while married - getting a good education, good jobs, a place of their own. Everyone matures differently. Just because you didn't know what you want, doesn't mean that's true of everyone. And not to be snippy, but just to be honest here: just because you have "so many degrees behind you now" doesn't make you better than someone who has been working in the "real world" since high school. It's just different, that's all.
I got married a few years ago, at 24. My husband and I both went to Ivy League schools. We both held numerous jobs throughout college, and then we got ourselves an apartment together and have been working our way up ever since. We save our paychecks like fiends until we can buy the things we need. We would both love to get more degrees behind us, once we can afford it. We won't have kids till we're ready. Maybe we're the exception. I don't know. But I think that there other members of our generation who are more responsible than you think. There's still hope.

Those people are most likely getting married because they have to. Remember, if you're pregnant and unmarried, it's a public disgrace? Or..... we're just growing up too fast. These days, people think they are officialy grown ups at age eighteen and want to break all ties from their family. I think I'm probably going to be a kid until age 20. But even then, I'll still be living at home. Besides, stuides have proven that more and more Americans lack the ability to see the result before they do something.

People have been getting married young forever. The average age of first marriage is higher now than probably ever before. It's definitely higher than it has been since the 1890s. The average age now is 27 for grooms and 25 for brides. Not everyone will go to college whether they're married young or not anyway.

Actually, according to the US Census Bureau, they're not. http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0005061.html
In fact, the median age at first marriage is higher for both sexes than it has been in the past few decades (and tying at some points...must note that these differences are not likely statistically significant except for maybe in post WWII times).
Some of the "young" marriages is very culturally and socially based. You were raised with different values than your peers. My boyfriend and I are in our early 20s and most of his high school friends are either engaged or married. We have been dating since hhigh school but have decided to wait until we can afford being married before we tie the knot. We both are in college and are planning to continue our education. It's how we both were raised: to value education over most other things.

Considering that 100 yrs ago, they would have gotten married at age 16, it's not so young is it?

It'snot just your generation. It goes on in every generation.you are one of the few who realize what's going on, that you should not just jump into something.Very few people have that insight. You should feel priviledged.
