Yes, you must be born again to be saved. The main difference between c-o-c and Baptists on this is at what point one is considered to be born again. The Bible shows that one is born again when a repentant believer is baptized. Romans 6:3-4 says at baptism, you "rise to walk in newness of life." This is the point where one contacts the death and saving blood of Christ, burries the old man of sin, and begins this new life. Birth is the beginning of new life.
Jesus said, "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved." (Mark 16:16)
Most Baptists teach "He that believes and is saved shall be baptized." That's not the same order.
If Jesus had meant "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved" what would he have said? I believe he said what he meant. I believe Jesus. "He that believes not, shall be condemned!"

Having been with the Church of Christ on and off since 2004, I can tell you that most of them are raised in the church and have not had that regeneration in their life. I expreinced that regeneration and I had formerly been an atheist!!!! Whenever I speak of "being born again" I run into a brick wall of silence with most of them and they are quick to pass judgment on outsiders. DO NOT enter into this denomination if you are truly born again of the water and the spirit! (unless you are praying for them) I feel draw to this denomination because their teaching is solid but the non-regenerates....well they don t trust born-agains. I am praying that a time will come when all members of any Church of Christ is indeed born again of the water and the spirit, as commanded in ACTS.

To be honest with you concerning whether the Church of Christ believes in being born again, then the answer is no. They will always tell you otherwise, but when their doctrine is examined in the light of the scriptures, then the answer is a solemn no. Most false doctrine justifies its unscriptural position by misusing the holy scriptures in a way to throw light on an unjustifiable doctrine. The position the Churches of Christ take in respect to salvation is one which has never been understood nor taught before this Church can into existence around 20 years ago. Making short cuts of salvation has been a typical habit of North American preachers over the last 55 years! To be brief, they teach that salvation comes only through physical baptism - which is submersion
in water. Christ and the prophets have always taught that salvation is given through repentance by faith. And, this faith is given to us by grace through Christ Jesus. Now, this grace of Christ is given by Him according to His own Will and not ours. False doctrine teaches that salvation can be obtained through our will or by our works. Biblical doctrine teaches that salvation is at the discretion of God's Will only and not our own, no matter how much we may choose or desire to be saved. This principle is taught consistently throughout the old and new testament.

It depends, I think, on which kind of "born again" you're talking about. If you mean having a revelation and changing your life around, then I'm pretty sure the Church of Christ is all for that, as long as your transforming your life more towards God. But if you mean reincarnation... well, many say that the Bible hints at reincarnation often but I doubt the Church would just say that it supports the theory of reincarnation.
