No way. You can ice it for swelling but nothing will get the bruised look to go away but time. A bruise is from broken blood vessels under the skin.

Try contrast bath. Take two small tubs of water one for cold water not below 20 c and another for hot water not more than 42-43 c. First dip the injured part in cold water, keep it for 5 minutes than dip the part in hot water for 5 minute. do it 10 times twice a day. If you can not dip your leg in water take ice cubes and hot water bag. Start with the cold water and end in cold water.

Ice it! yes, ice it. Get a big Ziplog bag, fill it with ice, get a towel, use that towel to put it on your bruise and then that bag of ice on it.

ever heard of heat rub? thats what i used to use after football or you could relax the swelling by forcing any pressur on your knee or ice o something.....

ice it in the mornings, not when you go to sleep. you need to keep the blood flowing and icing it at night won't help seeing that you'll be sleeping
