My dad travels a lot for work each day, so he likes to eat at particular places. Sometimes I get him gift certificates for Subway and stuff. It's things he normally buys on his own, but then for a few trips he doesn't have to spend his own money.

Or just cook him a nice dinner you know he'll enjoy.

Does he play lottery or anything? If so then a nice card with a lottery ticket in it. Take him out for dinner or if you are really stuck then buy him a card and put a gift card in it from a store that he would be most interested in. If he is sentimental and you are good at writing, then get him a card and put a 'letter to my dad' in it. That would go further then any gift you could buy at a store.

I'm a Dad, although my oldest is 7. My most prized gifts have been things that my girls made for me themselves.

Have a photo taken, framed and give that to him. Or just spend a day with him, take him out to lunch or dinner. Trust me, your Dad is probably very proud of you and just wants to have something that makes him think of you.

Well, if it helps, I got my dad olive oil from Crete (where we used to live) and 1lbs of cherries (b/c he loves cherries). My dad is also pretty hard to shop for, but I try to think of the things he really likes and then find something related to it. I think a lot of dads like the 3 Stooges (mine does) so you could try a DVD of that or Laurel and Hardy, Abbot and Costello. Also, old music from the 60s is probably something he'd like.

How about a nice professional picture of you or if you have siblings, a picture of all of you in a nice Father's Day frame.

My father iover the years literallty has eveything he could want in life. A wife that always buys him clothes, old cars, hobbies with lots of stuff. SO now we just get together at his choice of resturant (you need to switch to keep it interesting) and have the whole family join. All they really want is to have family around him. It goes back to the pack where the lead is surrounded by his off spring .

How about you write him a poem about him being your dad... include things you've done together... that will make it personal and unique and better than any gift you can buy :-)
