Crazy. 10 hours apart. I didn't think many people asked these questions.
Personally, I think its a fascinating religion with many interesting ceremonies and neat little trinkets.

Because it's not widely practiced. It's native to Japan, where I lived for 6 years.
These days, even most Japanese don't practice Shintoism as a religion -- although it is certainly very much a part of their cultural lives.
Shinto customs, rituals, and ceremonies are still common in Japan -- but as far as deep thought about Shinto's religious tenets, most people don't consider it very seriously.
