Despite what some of the other responders have told you....

If Jesus was not really "one with the Father" in the obvious sense of that phrase (i.e. - God incarnate), then that is a glaring omission by the NT writers. There are many sections that show the deity of Christ...I'll offer one:

John 20:26-31 -
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

If Jesus was not worthy of worship and praise then Thomas should have been rebuked for blasphemy. He was not. 20th century revisionism does not change what even the first century unbelievers knew: Jesus claimed to be God in the flesh.

For example: Roman Historian Pliny (about 112 AD), in reference to Christians, wrote: 'they worship Christ as god'.

BTW: The earliest know manuscript available today is from a section of the Gospel of John (referenced aboved):
John Rylands MS, dated 130 AD

let us look at another point of view, for mulsims; they believes in Jesus as a prophet but not a God, and who doesn't believe in Jesus is not a Muslim any more.
if we return this issue to logic... i mean core logic...
If Jesus is the son of God, so why dint "God" has a father.. then why don't we worship GOD's FATHER? and if GOD's father has a son logically its possible that he also has a father, then lets worship GOD's GRANDFATHER, by that we would enter an infinite-loop and we cant find the real GOD with unique characterstics that deserves to be worshiped. by that its impossible that GOD has a SON.
and on another hand.. if we say that both are one the son and the father... then how come the SON died while he is a part of the father [ when you take a piece from something it wont be absolute or perfect]... and if it was not a real death, why did he cry from fear when he knew that he will be killed, and why did he asked to be dismissed at first then he agreed?

not "if"... but Jesus actuallty didnt want to be worshipped as God. because he is not God.

Luke 4:8."Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve"

Notice the words: "Him ONLY." Jesus did not say "US only," or "Him and I only."

John 4:23 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM"

Notice: "worship the FATHER," not "worship the Father AND THE SON." Also notice: "worship HIM" not "worship US" or "worship ME."

How could Jesus pbuh possibly make it more clear than that? What abstract meaning are we now going to concoct for this verse to show that what Jesus "really" meant was "worship BOTH of us"?

"Jesus saith unto her, ... worship the Father" John 4:21.

EVEN JESUS WORSHIPPED GOD TOO.... !!!!!!!!!

Let us look at Luke 5:16 "And he (Jesus) withdrew himself into the wilderness and prayed to his God."

"And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Matthew 26:39

JESUS EVEN FELL ON HIS FACE AND PRAYED TO GOD , AND WORSHIP HIM.

HOPE THIS IS QUITE CLEAR TO ALL OF YOU PEOPLE.

We cannot say what Jesus did not say. We cannot conclude what Jesus did not conclude.

He didnt. He only wanted people to stop the violence and
to listen and understand each other better. So to really answer
your question, the people who wrote the bible wanted him to
be worshiped as a god thus causing confusion, chaos, jesus only
wanted the world to be a more peaceful place. which would
create a heaven on earth.

Well, what about in the case that we never had a proof of Jesus existence? Then, it would not really matter what he wanted or not! people who created him order what he would have told in case he existed!
