My dog is always dreaming she is running. She is a GD and weighs 130 pounds so I stay clear when she's dreaming.

Yes. If it seems your dog is having a nightmare, here's what you can do, b/c it is SO tempting to wake them! I forget where I read this, but it really works: crumple paper, make a tapping sound that is rhythmic, click your teeth softly in a rhythmic pattern, etc. It disrupts what they are thinking, but doesn't wake them up. When my dog is crying in his sleep/whining/seeming distressed, I have done this many times and it works to calm him. I wonder if it works on humans- I've never tried that.
