To "keep in touch" your best bet is to use a mobile phone service like AT&T or Cingular Wireless that will allow nationwide roaming at no additional charge. However, be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for the monthly fees.

As far as satellite and internet, you might want to look into DirecWay. It's a service provided by DirecTV that allows for both TV and internet connection thru a satellite connection, that way you won't have to worry about finding a physical internet connection anytime you want to email. What you basically do is when you get parked for the night, you bring out the dish and align it so that you can get service. There are automated devices that can help you with this process. Again, like you mobile service, expect to pay a king's ransom for the monthly service but this way might be well worth it.

Anyway, do some research on these services before doing anything and I would also talk to some RV dealers and ask their opinions, since they probably have more experience in this matter than just about anybody else.

Good Luck and happy motoring!!!

There are a couple suggestions...
1) A Mobile Broadband card. These are offered by Sprint and Verizon Wireless. It sticks into your laptop, and you have internet service anywhere there is cell coverage. The disadvantage is that speeds can be slower or faster depending on where you are.

2) A satellite provider such as HughesNet. HughesNet (Formally Direcway) is an internet connection via sattelite where you can get both TV and internet. The disadvantage is the very high eqipment/service costs, and that you have to align the dish if your gonna get service in an RV.

Hope this helps, and good luck!
