We take our cat to the vet 2 times a year for a shave. They give her something to really relax and shave her. It cost about $50.00 to have it done. They leave the head and end of tail unshaved. She looks like a lion!!

Take her to either your local vet clinic or to a grooming facility. If you don't have her shots then it's gonna cost you quite a bit to take her to the vet. If she's very sensitive about those mats of fur and doesn't like them being touched, make sure you tell whoever is going to groom her to be careful of those areas. Our cabbit has the exact same thing, and she needs to be shaved right down. If your cat's are that bad, they may have to do the same thing.

Try again with a comb and start at the ends, then keep on going in more. Be as gentle as you can be. You can try using a bit of conditioner as long as you thoroughly rinse it out and are sure your cat will not freak out and run away if you get him/her wet. If all else fails, you may need to cut the worst matts out.

Well one time I was brushing my cats hair and then it was matted. So then I called the vet and he said that if you don`t brush your cat`s hair daily that will happen. If you have the money you can let a vet take care of that problem. Trust me I know everything about cats and kittens. So follow my advice. Good luck!

Try baby powder to loosen the hair from itself with out using any liquid. Use a wide-spaced comb.

Go to the groomer to get the mats taken out and in the future, you have to brush her often to prevent them

ok I had that problem. besides takin to the vet to have him/her groomed you can try a conditioner (for animals only) and a wire comb, but be prepared for a fight. Your best choice is to take the kitty to a groomer.
