Look for motels in the Arlington and Alexandria areas. They are reasonably close to D.C. and accessible by Metro. They are cheaper than ANYTHING you can find in D.C.

Look for hotels that are near a Metro subway station. Check this web site for the Metro map and then do an expedia or travelocity search. http://www.wmata.com/

Look at a travel website for help.
On www.yahoo.com, there is a travel link. That should be helpful for you.
