I've seen many answers that people give regarding athiests and they are all quite negative. Why be so judgemental or just plain old mean?

Good Question....I think most people hate Athiests for the same reason people hate christians.. No one wants to hear your reason or philosophy for your belief/dibelief in god. Because you cannot prove it either way. It is an endless arguement which all sides, religious or athiest, claim to be right....And neither side can prove the other wrong without a shred of doubt. Sometimes Claiming you are right is just as bad as a person Claiming you are wrong.

Because some fools think themselves as the wisest person of the world. If they recognize God, they must also think that athiests are also made by God only. The don't know that every thing has two espects (negative and positive), may it be the human race. They must also forget that even their God did not give equality to all the fingures of their hands. All are of different quality and sizes. The seasons, if they think are made by God are also not the same. Every body must realize that this world is complete only with both the equals and opposites.

Why do you hate yourselves by ignoring your relationship with the One who created everything?
We are all part of the big family of God. How can we hate our brothers and sisters? We are simply concerned about them and want to bring them back to their senses. An atheist can never be happy as a son who rebels against his father can never be happy.
This world didn't come out of nothing. If you trace back you will find that everything has a cause. If you go like this you will arrive at the cause of all causes and that is God. Behind each creation there is an intelligent person. The Supremely Intelligent Person is God. Every sane person will admit that.

Hate atheists?....Pure ignorance! These people see no need to believe in GOD...but that is no reason to hate them! However,let me submit this: I believe this computer I'm typing on had no manufacturer,no maker and just came together by blind chance...and my watch just formed from nothing and ended up at the jeweler store...and my car,too! Same with the Planets and Moons and Stars...They stay in perfect orbit out of random chance. As you see,GOD is alive and well. Either there is a GOD of power and love,or we are headed for World War 3-Iran is bent toward just that! There is not a 3rd choice! But in any case-I refuse to hate atheists...They simply lack belief...But that will change soon enough....

I wouldn't say I hate athiests...I just have pity. What are they losing from believing in God? In the end they find out there wasn't one and so what? they were wrong? Or they find out there was one and not only were they right but hey, bonus! there's eternity in Heaven! If they weren't such control freaks they could find a way to deal with the fact that someone else might be in control and looking out for our best interest...just let go!

Many people hate athiests because they think that Athiests are against god which in thier minds means that they are for Satan.
I think Athiests are thinkers. they question religion, etc and find it to not be logical. I am a Buddist so I think belief in god is not logical also. Who really knows? I say let people believe what they want as long as they do not hurt anyone else...........peace.

Mostly because religious people (christians in particular) think that Atheists are devil worshippers (HA). Religious people don't like their imaginary view of the world disrupted and when you point out the contradictions, hypocrisy and flat out evil that is in the bible they get upset. It's alot easier for them to live in their fantasy world when no one points out to them that it is a lie.
By the way, I'm an Atheist and I don't necessarily hate christians (not all of them anyway). I take a page from their book - hate the religion love the brainwashed person who needs to be liberated. Of course it is rather ironic that someone who believes in a religion that's supposedly teaches peace (as long as you skip over large chunks of the bible) are so willing to hate non believers.

Athiests are argumentative, negative, and depressing to be around. They look for excuses not to be responsible and blame everyone else around them. They can never back up there argument, they don't believe in anything because they can' have concrete evidence. Like dying on a cross wasn't good enough for them.

Strange that you should ask. I would say that the "hate" you speak of is probably more of a self-defense mechanism.
Maybe you hadn't noticed, but atheists have a habit of making some very nasty comments toward people who have faith in some religion. They seem to reserve the worst of these for Christians.
Perhaps both sides ought to examine their own motives, before attacking the other?

The Bible tells us to love numerous of us, even our enemies yet we can hate the sin. As a Christian, if I were to hate an atheist, i'd be hating God and which will be a contradiction on my area and ought to reason me to lose my soul. i do not hate all people yet I do pray when you're atheists, homosexuals, murderers, rapists, etc etc
