I think it's awesome. I would love to have like 12 kids, but like half of them would have to be adopted. There's no way I'm popping out that many! I wouldn't have them all at once though. There couldn't be any more than 6 in my household under the age of 18 at one time. So after a few of them graduate from school and start moving out, I could add more to the family.

Yes, that would be the Jim Bob Duggar family, they live in Springdale, Arkansas. They won't stop having children and she keeps winning "mother of the year" awards. Her husband is a realtor/politican and her sister married a politican and she also keeps popping out the children. They sew their own clothes and each older child is assigned to help take care of a younger child. I personally think that it is sad, because it seems like it would be too hard to give each child some special one on one time, but that's my opinion.
I live in the next town so I hear about these people quite a bit.

Oh by the way, they are all of her kids, none are adopted and she is pregnant with number 17.

Yes it is very strange in this day and age that a woman would have 16 kids it is really sad becasue you know she is having one every 9 months or so, and the children are probley not getting enough attention from their mother. Unless she is very wealthy I think that 2 is plenty.

Grrrrr. the world is expodntionally increasing everyday and is we don't do something about it we're all screwed. she should be starlized and I'm willing to bet that she's getting goverment support. I take it back she would be sent to prison!
Plus scientist have proven the more children in the house the less educated the children are. So yeah we have 50 kids but their all the stupid kid in class holding everyone else behind

Those kids are probably not all her biological kids. Some of them could be her step or adopted kids. But it is possible that a woman can have 16 biological kids. It is rare but it does happen.

My mother is number 7 out of 14. My grandparents were truly irish catholic. For holiday gatherings we have to rent out halls. And that is just with first cousins and aunts and uncles. I have 65 first cousins. Now they are breeding and it is becoming very hard to remember their kids names. We have a lot of fun though.

I think its very strange being a parent myself I couldn't begin to fathom having that many mouths to feed and provide for. She believes in her religion that birth control is wrong. So that is why they have so many children

better her than me.

**once upon a time ago it was not uncommon for families to be that large...my grandmother had 12 siblings.....but i think as things have become more expensive....access to birth control has become easier, and use more accepted....the number of children in a family has decreased.
