I know that a cabbit is basically a deformed cat. I know it's genetically impossible for cats and rabbits to breed with eachother. What I want to know is, are they actually a Manx cat or is it actually birth defects. With the two cabbits I have owned they both had health issues. But I personally prefer them because they seem more gentle, intelligent, well behaved, and safe to have with children. If you know of any sites I can look at or if you have any info let me know!

It seems to be a genetic quirk found in Manx cats, there is a ton of info on this site if you're really interested.

a cabbit and manx can be related. I had a beautiful manx and his mother ended up having 2 cabbits at a later time.BUT this was because of inbreeding,( the manx was not their father)
the cabbit's legs are a deformity and that explains health issues. but yes, they are wonderful and unique pets as you've experienced.

they are actually a manx cat

a manx is a cat that has a naturally occuring mutation of the spine (its caused by genetics not a birth defect)

they are more likely to have spinal related health problems (bowel, bladder, movement etc.)
