i can tell you a lot about this. i just had one done. unfortunately i didn't get it done for vanity. my front tooth had a big problem, so they decided to pull it out and replace it with an implant. for just the one tooth in the front, it cost well over $2,000. There may still be more fees though because the process is not over yet. I have the metal rod that acts as the new root implanted in my jaw right now, but that has to heal for about 3 months before the post can be inserted into it. the post is what the new tooth or crown will be placed on permanently. for now while i'm healing, i have a device that looks somewhat like a retainer that has a tooth attached to it. this device is a pain in the neck. i absolutely hate it. so far the process hasn't been too painful because of all the meds i was given. if you want to know anything else, please let me know because i know an awful lot about it. and to answer your last question... is it worth it? well it will be worth it to me because my tooth won't be screwed up anymore, and it will be more healthy for me. however, i would never really suggest it to anybody for vanity reasons. the process is just too long, and it costs too much money. that's really my opinion though.

I don't know about how much a whole mouth full costs, but I am having one molar done. It will cost me just over $2,000 when it's done. The doctor I'm going to charges as he goes along and the insurance doesn't cover any of it (except maybe part of the extraction of the original tooth).
My husband had one of his front bottom teeth implanted and he's happy with the outcome.
With that being said, I have known a person or two who had gotten their whole mouth done and said they could have bought a Mercedes for how much it cost and in the end their body rejected the implants so they were back to square one with much less money in their pocket.
And, one other thing, it takes about 6-9 months after getting your teeth pulled before you actually get the implants.
Good luck!

Implants are definitely worth the extra cost. Implant placement is apperently coming down as many dentist are reducing their fees to get their feet wet in implants. The additional cost after implant placement would be the crown. So going by the prices quoted above another $700 -$1000 dollars Total $3000. They used to be $5000 to place. Once an implant integrates with the bone it is not coming out, it needs to be cut out. The only way it can come out on its own is through a major infection. They are very predicable.
Another alternative would be a bridge ranging from $2500 - $3200. but bridges can fail and then the fix is at lest equal to the orginal $2500.

the cost is still high altho it is definitely lower now than before. implants are a wonderful way to restore an area where you lost a tooth. they are definitely worth it.

Cost? Its expensive. Worth it? Every penny.
I have a full mouth restoration. Very beautiful very lifelike. So expensive it can take major financing. My surgery alone was $38,000 not counting the teeth themselves.
