My gf and i have beentogether for 4 years and she is a German citizen who was born in poland. I am an american citizen and lived in germany for 3 years but was recently transferred back to the USA for a new job. Is there anyway besides marrige to have her legally stay in the united states. I have tried to aplly for a green card on the internet but because she was born in poland she does not qualify.

germans can visit the us without a visa for about 6 months. Ofcourse, she cannot work without a valid work permit or a green card. She should probably just come here as a tourist, and then if she can find a job where they are willing to sponsor a work visa (H1-B) for her she can get that.
Otherwise, if you decide to get married she can then get a green card and do whatever she wants in the US.
I'm not sure how you tried to apply for a green card on the internet. There are several different rules under which one can apply for a green card, but they all take time. The fastest and easiest is by being married to a US citizen.

When she comes here she can stay up to 3 months at a time. Im not sure if that is only once a year, or you can drive her to mexico or canada and she can come back for another 3 months. To be honest it is a pain in the *** without getting married..

Poland will be soon able to enter the U.S. without a visa and stay here for two months. I don't know when it will be aproved though. For now, you can send her an invitation, if she's still in school, they'll let her in.

My friend is having the same problem with her boyfriend, He lives in Germany right now to, and he was sent back because his visa ran out. but the only thing that I can say, that my friend told her boyfriend is come over with the Mexicans, just fly to Mexico and cross,

does she still go to school? try studying abroad... if not i forgot what it's call but there a form where you apply for her to visit then change the status from there.... hmm.. if not, try to apply her as a fiance that not marriage... if thing dont work out for you guys you wont be accountable for her... then again you are responsible for her at least 5 years.....

ask her to use a tourist visa!!!!!!! they give it for 6 months...... then she can extend.....for another few months
meanwhile i am sure u will marry her!!!!!!!!
