Repent from what, specifically? Preaching? Bigotry? Attempting to write discriminatory practices into the Constitution?
It's been a long time since I went to confession but if I remember correctly, repentance works best when it's very specific -- you have to be aware of exactly what you DID wrong, it's not enough just to feel a vague sense that you WERE wrong.

No it not time to change God's Word. Romans 1: 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Romans 1: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. Romans 1: 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

well according to the bible it is not a right thing to do. But of course, no one is preaching. Just saying their beliefs. it's democracy.
I think my view of homosexuality if not religion, it's basically social issue, because most of gay people got AIDS or HIV. So I think it is better not to be gay.
by the way, i've updated my answer in your other question, you might wanna check it out.

Absolutely NOT because it IS (whether you like it or not) a sin.
9 What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.

It is time for all religious folk to 'see the light' and stop peddling the god myth, especially the horrific homophobic and misogynistic side of it all.

They should realize it is not a sin but a terrible disease. Have you ever seen a queer animal. They must be immune.
