coz there are loads of dumb ppl to answer the dumb questions....and the dumber the question gets you can find more ppl to answer it......but the most intellectual questions can only be answered by the very few peoplewho know how to use the grey matter inside their head....

Intellectual questions actually require people to think, learn and understand. Unfortunately, society seems to glorify the ignorant in many cases and we see young people (and some older ones) that are proud of being uneducated and ignorant. Also, intelligence is not a common commodity these days, and those that are educated and intelligent often spend more time offline or in forums on specific subjects and only come to places like this while bored and at work.
In general people pick the easy way out. They will answer questions that don't take much actual knowledge or thought. They also don't want to be bothered doing research on a topic for the person who is asking since that person obviously did not bother to research it themselves. Most people will answer questions that are more relevant to themselves and their own life experience. Since most of the posters I have seen seem very young, that reduces the amount of education or life experience they have had.
Finally, most of the questions I have seen that SEEM to be the most intelligent also seem to be "do my homework for me" posts. Why should Joe Blow get an A because I know how to calculate his parablola? He still isn't going to learn how to do it.

It takes an intellectual person to answer an intellectual question and dumb questions anyone can answer. Sometimes its more about common sense with the dumb questions and not all very highly intellectual people have plain common sense either. So if you have compassion for the dumb questions or the time give the person an answer and intellectual answers could get you places you never imagined.

This is the internet...also known as the 'world-wide web'....
just think of the entire population of the world....how many intellectuals are there that think before speaking?... how many others just spout off without thinking?
You will have the same ratio on the internet in yahoo or any other public forum.

It's easier and quicker to answer dumb questions, since dumb answers can suffice.
It takes more time and knowledge to answer thoughtfully an intellectual question! And maybe some people don't understand such questions.

U can ask dumb question about sex and my gf or bf crap and ther'll be more than 40 answer but something intellectual or political quest ppl are dumb founded.

Because people feel comfortable giving humorous (or at least they think humorous) answers to dumb questions...and take serious questions....well... more seriously
