If you never ask you never learn, if no-one answers there would be no point in asking, therefore you would never learn,
Some questions maybe ignorant but isn't this the point in any section of the Yahoo question/answer pages to enlighten the ignorant, misinformed and people just willing to learn.

Who is to say what is or isn't a dumb question. Even the most inane question can spark an interesting and useful debate ... especially on arcane or extremely subjective subjects.
If you don't like a question then ignore it and move on.

I would say just for the points in most cases. I tend to just ignore questions that I don't feel are searching for a real answer or just being blasphemous.
