You would be best served by reading a little history. A year, day, moment does not define the "start" of a war. War's are started due to a growing status of unresolved issues some dating ten to 100s of years old. The "start" is really an historians reference point of declaration and is far less important than the issues leading to the "start" and the resulting consequences leading to the "surrender, truce and treaty".

Some might say with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, following the end of WW I.
The terms of the treaty were harsh by some standards, and promoted the rise of German nationalism.
From there the Kaiser was eventually deposed, and the National Socialist Party rose to prominence, as did its eventual leader Adolf Hitler.
The annexation of the Sudentland would mark the true beginning of WW II.

it was started when some smart people told the wrong person the right thing. Some people in positions of power started arguing in a public place and BAM next thing we realize people are getting dressed up in dark neatly pressed uniforms and marching off to go live in pine boxes....
Any questions?? go consult your local history book, Librarian, or in if I have to suggest a simple search on World War 2, when did it start.
Good Luck and if you really want to be entertained go ask a veteran about it.... Best damn stories that I have ever heard...

Heard the latest one? America has publicly apologised for being late to help out in the last two World Wars. They promised they would be right on time in the next one because they are going to start it.
