He has just started doing this lately, in my slippers, on the mats in the bathroom and I cannot get rid of the smell. He will go outside for hours then come back in, pee and head back out again! He's driving me crazy. What can I do?

There is pheromone you can buy at petco.com petsmart.com that will stop them from feeling like the need to mark the place. To get rid of and prevent resoiling natures miracle works SO well.
He's upset about something and the plug in pheromone gives them a sense of comfort so they will stop peeing outside of the box. There is also a litter that has a scent only they can smell that retrains them only to pee in the litter box.
