ISLAM literally means submission to the Will of the Almighty. In our belief ISLAM began when God issued an order to Adam, and Adam was given the free-will to obey.. or not obey. Thus Islam literally began with the First Command of God, which was issued after free-will was given to Adam.

Thus anyone who obeyed or obeys God and puts his own free-will under the Will of the MOST HIGH is technically a Muslim. The word ISLAM comes from the word PEACE or Salaama in Arabic, which comes about only if you obey the MOST HIGH!!

Thus Islam was not founded by a man, but by the Lord Almighty himself. What is popularly known as Islam and as a faith forwarded by our Prophet Mohammad is in fact a continuum of the system which started with Adam, went through the Noahide laws, Abraham, the Laws of Moses and the implementation of those laws by the great ones of Israel until the chain of prophets culminated in Israel with the arrival of Jesus Christ, who in our belief was the last Guide and Prophet of Israel, before our final Prophet came for all mankind, and established the love of the Prophets and kings of Israel, first in his own nation, then in other nations. All Muslims are required to bless the Prophets if they take their names, and believe in the ONE GOD.

Muhammad taught obedience to One God in Arabia, where the Arabs of his nation and family used to worship 360 gods, one for each day of the year. To discard so many gods who met various needs of the arabs was a hard thing to ask. Some gods were gods of money, others god of health, knowledge, travel, sex etc.. so it was very hard for an average Arabs to dump all his gods enmasse. It is obvious that one can spread a new faith in a group, but discarding the old faith is not easy without killing people in large numbers.

What is amazing is in a mere ten years Mohammad was able to completely remove the Arab pagan religion that had existed for centuries from Arabia. He began by laying the seeds of obedience to the ONE GOD in the first thirteen years of his ministry, from the age of 40 years until he was 53.

The Arabs reacted violently to Muhammad's "intrusion" and teachings which said not only there is only one God, but taught that the great ones of Israel must be loved and respected as their own. The ancient Arab names were replaced with the names of the Prophets of Israel for naming the children. Also he taught that the slave and the slave owner were equal in the sight of God, or that the Chief of a tribe and the lowest member in that tribe were equal in front of the Almighty. Some of these teachings were very offensive to the arabs of his time. His arch enemy (the only one mentioned by name in the Quran) was his own uncle and his wife is also mentioned as enemies of monotheism. His uncle was killed in the first battle.

Basically what Muhammad accomplished in the 23 years of first forwarding Islam (in the first 13 years) then combating the extant faith in response to some terrible abuse inflicted on the early Muslims and vanquishing the Arabs completely (in the following ten years ) and establishing ISLAM permanently and laying the foundations for Islam to spread across to many nations is not only a miraculous feat, but an impossible one. In fact, to this day no other man has completely eradicated an existing religion so completely from such a vast area in a mere ten years as the Prophet of Islam did.

If one says that God did not support Mohammad in his mission or that he is a false prophet, then they are unwittingly saying that God became helpless in front of a false Prophet.

You can see that many powerful men are fighting the same people in the same regions and are unable to eradicate the existing religion or install a new way of thinking, even though the blood shed is substantial (less than 2700 died in all battles between the arabs during the eight years of war between the Arabs during the prophet's time), where as thousands have lost their lives to no avail in the Middle-east.

Lastly the evidence is also the Quran. I challenge anyone to write on a sheet of paper one page of information, give it to ten of their friends, and ask them to copy it by hand and give it to ten of their friends and compare the copies. You would see many errors in the copying and transformation.

The Quran is a living miracle in the sense that it has not changed over centuries, and it has been translated, re-written thousands of times. Muhammad had challenged that the Quran will not change until close to the Day of Judment, when slowly it will change and then vanish atogether when the Judgment Day shall arrive at that point. Until now we have ONE QURAN across the globe!! This is nothing short of a living miracle that is not bound by time and space.

Peace.

Islam is the true religion of the one and only God since Adam to the end day. All true prophets like Abraham, Moses and Jesus, were Muslims and carried the message of Islam. Those prophets PBUT were send to limited people, at certain place and time, and they were supported with valid evidences for their people. Mohammad PBUH brought the same message but in a more universal and eternal form and for this reason it is well documented, preserved, and authentic. His evidence which is the holy Quran is ever fresh and valid as a proof for all people, every where and any time.

the story is going some thing like this The prophet Mohammad became visited by utilising an angel of GOD and became advised that he became to deliver the human beings back to the single authentic faith. He became a provider provider and older whilst he began(i'm no longer able to undergo in innovations his age). He went to Medina and started a "non violent" innovations-set to get human beings to transform to Islam. Then after that did no longer artwork he went to Mecca and tried a greater "aggressive" innovations-set. He ultimately led a protection tension and attacked Medina and that they have been compelled to transform. The Qu'ran is writings from him that became compiled later after he died... The orginal writtings became destoryed to perseve the classes.

Nice Question: I would like to give you a brief history:

hose who follow Islam are called Muslims.

Muslims believe that God (Allah) revealed their faith to humanity through various prophets at various times, but that the final and complete revelation was given to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the 7th century CE.

Islam the second most popular faith in the world with over a thousand million adherents. It is very strong in Asia, and continues to grow everywhere else in the world.

There are around 1.6 million Muslims in Britain (according to the 2001 Census), making it the second most popular faith here, too.

The Bare Essentials of Islam:

* As a religious movement, Islam began in Arabia over 1300 years ago
* Muslims traditionally believe that Islam has always existed, but for practical purposes date their religion from 622 CE
* Muslims believe that Islam was revealed to humanity by the Prophet Muhammad
* Muhammad was a human being, not a god
* Muslims believe that Muhammad was the last prophet of God
* Muslims believe that there is only one god. The Arabic word for God is Allah
* The word Islam means submission to God
* The Muslim scripture is the Holy Qur'an
* The Muslim building for communal worship is called a Mosque
* The Five Pillars of Islam are practices through which Muslims put their faith into action:
o Shahadah: declaration of faith
o Salat: ritual prayer 5 times a day
o Zakat: giving a fixed proportion to charity
o Sawm: fasting
o Hajj: pilgrimage to Mecca
* There are two main groups of Muslims:
o Sunni Muslims make up 90% of the world's Muslims
o The other main group are the Shi'ite Muslims
Origins
The final revelation of Islam was given to humanity through the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) during the 7th CE in Arabia and spread rapidly through the Middle East.
Although Islam was not fully revealed to us until the 7th century, Muslims believe that it has always existed and that earlier prophets showed humankind parts of the truth.

Everything belongs to God
The word Islam means submission to Allah (God) and Muslims believe that everything in life should be at the service of Allah.
As a result, Muslims find it hard to accept the distinction that some Western cultures make between a person's religious life and the rest of their life.
Muslims think such a distinction is entirely wrong. They believe that not only individuals, but also the institutions of society should serve Allah.
Muslims submit to Allah by obeying his commands and by living their whole lives in a way that is pleasing to Allah.
Muslims believe that they should combine faith and action in everything they do: they regard belief on its own, or good deeds on their own, as pointless.

The 5 Pillars of Islam
These are the five obligations that every Muslim must satisfy in order to live a good and responsible life according to Islam.

Scripture
The Islamic scripture is the Holy Qur'an. Muslims believe that the Qur'an was revealed to humanity by God through the Prophet Muhammad.
They believe the Qur'an is a perfect copy of a text that exists eternally in heaven.

Worship
The place for communal Muslim worship is called a Mosque.
Muslims are required to pray 5 times a day, and although this need not be at a mosque, it must be done according to precisely laid down rules.
Muslims do not regard this requirement for ritual prayer as in any way burdensome, but rejoice in the opportunity to do God's bidding.
Muslim subdivisions
There are several different groups of Muslims, but all of them, in every country and community, regard their faith as a bond between them, and as a major part of their identity.
The largest Muslim group consists of Sunni Muslims who make up 90% of the world's Muslims.
The other main group is the Shi'ite Muslims, who are particularly strong in Iran.
