Umm...no he doesn't, at least not anymore. In case you were unaware, President Bush's approval rating is now below 50%. That's pretty significant. It means that there's not even a majority behind him anymore.

Unfortunately, America isn't run by the people, although direct control from billions of people would get a bit difficult. We elect officials. Those officials can say one thing to get voted in and then do the exact opposite, and unfortunately you never know what their real attitudes are until they get into the office that is their ultimate goal.

Most Americans these days, for instance, would rather that we were not in Iraq anymore. Afghanistan, yes, until we find either Osama or his body, because we're being vengeful, as all humans can be. Sorry, but I'd like to see his dead body strung up on a pole. He and his people are about the only people in this world that I truly hate right now. I can't conceive of a peaceful future until all of al Qai'da is ground to dust.

Yeeeah that whole 'by the people, for the people thing' has evolved somewhat over the years. For example, back in the day (when our country was new), people had their names thrown into a hat for the Senate... it was a duty rather than a priviledge. Nowadays we elect them all and unfortuately American politicians have their own agendas :( Oh and our election process is not entirely Democratic! We have something called the Electoral College and by that, a candidate can have twenty gazillion votes but if that twenty gazillion happens to be in a state that doesn't get very many electoral votes, most of those votes don't count. It's dumb! Americans themselves have nothing to do with Bushes atrocities!

No...this another generalization
They elected him for something , he and his gang used the White house for something else, they have their own personal interests and agenda.
The polls shows clearly that more than 60% of Americans are against his policy and action , this makes the Americans Not responsible for Bush's action, and this is not generalization, because we are talking about the majority...

He didn't do what many of us wanted him to do. And the reason that a lot of people wanted him to do it was because he had phony intelligence manufactured to convince them there was a danger.

Also, most of us didn't vote for him in the first place, so the "run by the people" argument falls a little flat here.

this would be true if in fact the people did run the country and he just spoke for us. LOOK at the facts - a much larger percentage of americans wanted the soldiers brought home than those that wanted them to stay - guess what, they are still not home!

He certainly doesn't do what *I* want him to. I voted against him, but there is mounting evidence that voting machines were rigged, voters were excluded on bogus challenges, and many other voting irregularities occurred. I don't believe he won the election fairly, but for a lot of us who do not approve of him *at all* - it seems our hands are tied. All we can do is try to make enough people aware of it that we can finally get some of the crooked politicians out of office.

George Bush is the worst president in American history.

His only duty is to uphold & defend the US Constitution. And, he can't, or won't, even do that.

Everyone's entitled to his own beliefs, but anyone who supports him is doing so despite the evidence of his gross incompetence.

heres the thing, yes we as americans did elect him (though i didnt vote for him either time) but he does what he wants from his point of view. he doesnt have a direct phone line to the people of the usa. if he did we would have lower gasoline prices, free healthcare for everyone and no poverty and the people in new orleans would not have died like they did.
