check this out
I have 25$ in my account. i make following transactions::
withdraw=$10 amount left=$15
withdraw=$10 amount left=$5
withdraw=$5 amount left=$0
----------------------
withdrawal = 10+10+5=25
amount left total = 15+5=20
now the question arises::
why the difference of $5...?
Did this answer your question a bit ...
When you are withdrawing the amount u will withdraw from the amount in your account. Thus it shows the total $25 amount ..
But In the other case it is showing the reduced amount ...

Seems too easy. Your first statement says it all. You withdrew $25 total, which brings your balance to $0. The fact that you added up your balance after each withdrawal is just a misdirection effort. Nice try though.

It is similar to this riddle:
3 men go to a hotel. They pay the manager $30. The manager realises he overcharged so he sent $5 back with the bell boy to return to them. The bell boy thinks its tough to divide $5 in 3 people so he gives them each a dollar back.
Now each paid $9 instead of $10. Which makes it $27... $2 is with bell boy which makes it $29... where did $1 go?
It is a matter of incorrect reference. There is a term for this kind of questions in maths... forgot what it is.

You are assuming that the amounts left should add up to the original $25. This assumption is wrong.

Because you cumulatively added your "withdrawals," but did NOT cumulatively subtract the "amount lefts" at the same time!!
