Let him know how upset you are with his lieing by taking away his privilages. Let him know that if he can't be trusted then you will treat him as such. Force him to spend less time with his friends and more time with you doing family things.

I have not met a man yet who has not wrecked his parent's vehicle at some point. Your son was responsible because you placed the privilege on him. Make him get a job to pay for the dammage. Make sure he has to walk to work though or ride with a friend. My mother in law never got over it and still pines away about her van even though her daughter wrecked 2 of her cars afterwards. As for the lying.... You probably already got him for that. Remember he is your son no matter what though. You also may want to make him stop hanging with his buddy who has a license for a while.

Not sure why that is. Didn't know that people were even arguing about this topic until recently. In order to have experienced the real essence of the 90s, it really helps to be an 80s baby. Then someone would be able to relate much more to the 90s, the fashion, the music, television shows, and many other things. If someone was literally born in the 90s, they won't really have the most vivid memories from that decade.

Having a permit means hes a teenager and we all know that teenagers are not using there brains. Discipline, yes. Tell him he cant drive again for another 6 months or so then tell him you want to trust him again and let up. Then see what happens. Oh yeah make sure you tell him you love him.

i dont think there is a way to "get over it"
that is a pretty darn big breech of trust. im not sure i would want to get over it lest it should happen again perhaps this time with more than loss of property
without a doubt the trust lost will take time to rebuild but as with all things time heals
much luck and fortune to u i can see u will need it after a situation like this

Whenever you are really, REALLY angry at someone for doing something to you that you just can't seem to get over, do the UNthinkable - pray for them. Believe me, I know it's the LAST thing you want to do, too! Pray ANYWAY. Be diligent. And before you know it, God will change your heart and give you a new love for your son, his "friend", and the entire situation.

Fear can lead to lies. Obviously there needs to be a ban on driving until they can prove their maturity, but in this case, it is far more important to be thankful they're still alive!!
