Burping, also known as belching, ructus or eructation, is the release of gas from the digestive tract (mainly esophagus and stomach) through the mouth. It is often accompanied with a typical sound and sometimes an odor.
Burping is typically caused by eating or drinking too fast, and thereby swallowing (aerophagia) and subsequently expelling air, in which case the expelled gas is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen. Burps can also be caused by imbibing carbonated drinks such as beer, soft drinks, or champagne, in which case the expelled gas is carbon dioxide from the drink itself. Gastroesophageal reflux disease can also cause involuntary burping. Some studies ([1]) have suggested that aerophagia is not the primary culprit but that burping is in fact a learned (social) behaviour.
The sound of burping is caused by the vibration of the cardia (esophageal sphincter) as the gas passes through it. The current Guinness world record for the loudest burp is 118.1 decibels, set by Paul Hunn from London, England in 2000 [2]. (This would be noticeably louder than a chainsaw at a distance of 1 meter.) Similar sounds, such as that created by Tupperware, are sometimes also referred to as burps.

google that question....did it for u.....A burp — sometimes called a belch — is nothing but gas. When you eat or drink, you don't just swallow food or liquid. You also swallow air at the same time. The air we breathe contains gases, like nitrogen and oxygen
Sometimes when you swallow these gases, they need to get out. That's where burping comes in! Extra gas is forced out of the stomach, up through the esophagus, (the tube for food that connects the back of the throat to the stomach), and out of the mouth as a burp.

A burp is nothing more than gas escaping from your stomach. When you eat or drink you also swallow air. The air we breathe contains gases, such as nitrogen and oxygen. Any extra gas in your stomach is forced up and out -- of your mouth. If the gas is trapped in your large intestine, it comes out the other end.
When you drink sodas, you might find that you burp more. Why? Because these drinks contain carbon dioxide to make them fizzy. Carbon dioxide is a gas! When you drink through a straw, you tend to take in more air, and you're more likely to burp.

Burping is typically caused by eating or drinking too fast, and thereby swallowing (aerophagia) and subsequently expelling air, it is actually a reflex, a mechanism in which case the expelled gas is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen. Burps can also be caused by imbibing carbonated drinks such as beer, soft drinks, or champagne, in which case the expelled gas is carbon dioxide from the drink itself.
The sound of burping is caused by the vibration of the cardia or esophageal sphincter as the gas passes through it.
