Am a private business owner with a legal state ID, I know I can buy things online from my state and not pay tax after I show my tax Id. Is it possible to apply this to the purchase of a new car?

If you are tax exempt for your business then it applies to everything including a vehicle....as long as the business buys the vehicle and the title and registration are in the business name

Just because you are buying a car for your business does not make it tax exempt. Your car must be used in the business for a specific reason to be tax exempt. I don't know what state you live in, so I can't give you a better answer. However, once you try to get license plates for your car, your state is going to want proof that you paid the sales tax on the car or the reason it is being purchased without paying sales taxes. Your state doesn't care if you made your purchases online or not. Sales/use taxes will be due on your purchases unless they qualify as tax exempt purchases. You do not want to find this out whenever you get audited.
